California Team League 2015 Recap

Hey Cardfighters,

Just wanted to give you all a little recap on Team League. I went with my team "Vanguard Central" It was super fun and my team did pretty well placing 37th overall which I'm really happy with since two of us had never participated in a large Bushiroad tournament before. We went 5-2 losing in the 3rd and 6th rounds. Individually I went 4-3 losing to a mirror match, OTT and Seekers.  I don't remember much/didn't take notes so the round descriptions won't be super detailed.

If you want to see what decks my team used go check out our YouTube Channel Vanguard Central
two of the decks have been posted up as videos. Mine (DOTX) and my teammate Ryan's (Royal Paladin) our Clarke's deck should be up in the near future too (OTT)

Anyway let's get into the rounds

Round 1: VS. OTT  (Win)
My opponent was playing Susanoo + Oruhime but got stuck on Amaterasu and didn't have any thing to stride with the whole game. Cheesy win.

Round 2: VS. Revengers (Win)
Really hate playing against this deck. He got grade stuck at 0 and rushed down. Another Cheesy win.

Round 3: VS. DOTX (Mirror) (Loss)
I was in control for most of the game which makes me all the more salty that I lost. I kinda messed up because I knew my teammate was gonna win via his opponent being grade locked so I should have played it safer but it came down to him attacking me with Root Flare Dragon while I'm at 3 damage. I have plenty of shield in my hand but I decide to no guard because my chances of living are pretty good, but he gets the double crit and thats game. So much regret about this game. Never again. Hahaha.

Round 4: VS. ??? (Win)
I honestly can't remember this match I just remember my team swept the other team and we got our mojo back.

Round 5: VS. OTT (Loss)
I played aggressively but he kept attacking my rears and I wasn't able to stop him from getting his draw game on. I couldn't get through his hand and fell to a ridiculous amount of criticals.

Round 6: VS. Seekers (Loss)
I played aggressively as per my deck but met around 3 blaster blade seekers to cut off my offense. I had to bank on him not having a PG or using the Unflippers at one point but he had the normal PG so that pretty much sealed the game for me.

Round 7 VS. No one
Our opponent's didn't show which we hoped would let us sneak into top 8 but it didn't work out so I guess I would have rather played a match.

It was a ton of fun though so I can't wait until next year to do it again. I hope that all of you who are going out to your team leagues have fun and best of luck to you all!
