If you haven't seen Cardfight!! Online is up on Steam Greenlight! So before I discuss this here is a link. http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=480641615&insideModal=0&requirelogin=1
Please go support Cardfight!! Online and get it on steam :)
If you aren't convinced for some reason let me tell you why this is such a great thing.
- Expanding the game to a huge audience.
- This is the hugest thing for us as a community and for Vanguard as a game. And also the most important point so pay attention. Do you know how many people use Steam? On January 1st 2015, Steam hit 8.47 MILLION CONCURRENT USERS. That's 8.47 million people online AT THE SAME TIME. And there is probably millions of other users that weren't on at that time. So let's get to the point. Having Cardfight!! Online on Steam is going to expose our game to tens of millions of people rather than just the few people who happen to google "Cardfight Online". If you are wondering how because you don't use steam, there will be feature games that come up on the home page or deals that pop up as you open the program. If Cardfight!! Online gets on steam its likely that it will get to the home page which literally exposes the game to millions. So if you don't use steam I ask you to please sign up for an account and go support Cardfight!! Online on Steam Greenlight. It will also be a wonderful place to meet new Cardfighters as I will detail next.
- Easily Play with your friends.
- The next major point is that you'll be able to play with your friends super easy. As some of you may know Steam's friends list shows you what games your friends are playing and usually has it linked up so that you can join/invite your friends into a game. This means its very likely that you'll be able to start up a friendly game and invite your other Cardfighting friends straight from your friends list! I'm also hoping that you will be able to easily add the people you meet through steam to your friends list which could let you build a group of people that you enjoy Cardfighting with.
- Bring back players who quit, don't have locals, didn't have the money
- While Cardfight!! Online is set to only start with the G-series cards it will eventually bring back the original series cards. Depending on the system they use it is likely that you'll be able to play the game for free albeit a little grindy to get the cards you want. Both of these points will bring people who quit or couldn't keep going because of money issues. It also gives people a place to play. Many players don't even have a local store that supports the game so with Cardfight!! Online looking to give those players a place to play again. You might be wondering how Steam Greenlight will help in this case. Well getting Cardfight!! Online to Steam will be able to catch those players who don't follow Vanguard news any more but use steam.
- I don't really have a 4th point so lets just look at the numbers.
- First lets approximate Steam's community to 10 million. If even 1% of those users see Cardfight!! Online try it out and become part of the community then we are looking at ~100,000 new Cardfighters. Do you know how many people liked Official Cardfight!! Vanguard on Facebook? 108,766 (as of this article). While Facebook likes aren't really equivalent to the size of the community and I'm approximating the true size of the Steam community if even a tiny fraction of Steam users join the Cardfight!! Vanguard Community we will practically double in size.
I hope you are thoroughly convinced now or even if you wanted to see Cardfight!! Online on steam you understand why it is truly important for our game as it stands a good chance of exploding in popularity if we make Cardfight!! Online get there.
Thanks for reading,
~Chris
Once its released, will you be using CFO for your Budgetguard videos ovet CFA?
ReplyDeleteI will definitely be switching over to CFO, the videos may not switch over immediately change though. This is because CFO will originally only start out with G-series cards and a lot of times the best budget option isn't in the G-series or you need non-G support to really bring the deck together. Hope that gives you a good idea of what to expect in the future :)
