This week is a lighting fast deck seeker deck focused on power plays and field building.

Brutus is the ideal grade 3 for the deck sporting an on-ride call to keep up aggression as well as a Legion skill which powers up the front row makes him perfect for the deck. Unfortunately his skill won't help you hit numbers unless it is the same turn you legioned and you have Locrinus out. (atleast in this deck).

Light Saver Dragon is able to power up your field with its legion skill and the +5k makes it perfect for not relying on other units to hit the right numbers. Unfortunately it doesn't quite have the field building potential as Brutus so we leave it as a secondary boss.

Deck Comments:
The primary focus of this deck is aggression which you can see in the grade 1s having lots of high powered attacking types and Isbuzzard to provide power pushes during legion plays. The grade 2s further support this by providing more power skills while gildas helps set up the field. The grade 3s both provide offensive power boosts to strike down your opponent. The strides are nice albeit a little unnecessary in my opinion. You'll mainly want to focus on legion in this deck.

Overall Performance:
This deck did very well in the games I played with it. the early rush left the opponent with little defense for the power columns that came after. I think with a little tweaking and finishing up the stride zone it could be a power house that may not be on par with the top decks but definitely could give them a run for their money.
Tips for Mastering:
- Be aggressive, but don't over commit so that even if your opponent tries to control your field you won't have to let up in your assault.
- Brutus and Light saver dragons provide the same function but Brutus is better for quick games and Light Saver is better for longer ones. Choose well.
Tips for adding money:
This will mainly be focused on the stride zone and depending on what you think the deck is lacking. Push the opponent to higher damage so that the power columns are effective? Samuel. Crit your opponent to death if your advantage has run out? Saint Blow. Need to keep building field? Altmile. The stride zone can provide a lot of versatility that the deck currently doesn't have. For the main deck I would suggest to switching to Counter Charging PGs as they will help you use Light Saver Dragon's skill over the course of the game, which sets you up better for the late game.

Any advice on getting the PR legion and if setting Altmile as the second G3, is there much changes to the deck?
ReplyDeleteat TCGplay.com you can find tons of the promo legions for really cheap :) As for having Altmile as the secondary grade 3 I think it could work, but you would probably want to change out all the legion/seeker specific support like Isbuzzard, locrinus, and gildas. Try using Knight of Twin Sword, starlight violinist and Stride fodders for starts. Also don't forget to use Seeker triggers since Light Saver uses Especial Counterblast! Good luck!

Deleteand one more thing, I've asked you to make a budget deck list for DP before from the RSS feed for zeal, i thought the deck is fun and people should try it, what do you think? And big thanks for the advice on the deck
DeleteI think it would be a fun deck and I have thought about it, just hasn't come out yet, I'll add it to the list for my suggestion series though!
DeleteHi there! As always, this was another fantastic read. I don't understand how you find so many seemingly irrelevant decks and use them to this point of skill. I was actually just thinking about building a very similar deck the other day (maybe some Seeker PG's, though), as I've been wanting to use Madew in more and more stuff. Perhaps he could have been under "adding money?" Or perhaps even the deck itself, maybe dropping a Gablade or two for the Comic Booster reprint? I'd just like to day that I've been really inspired by both you and Tim Power Gamer lately. You're both able to find these decks so far out of the meta. One of the things I've been trying to figure out is a Dinochaos/Dank Rex deck for the Superior Ride shenanigans. Any ideas?
ReplyDeleteThanks your support means a lot! Tim Power Gamer is excellent too and his ripple rush builds and his silly Stardrive Dragon decks are fantastic! Glad you like Madew as much as I do :) They would be a good fit in the deck. As far as Dinochaos/Dank Rex I have a super sweet build for Dark Rex that should make its way to the youtube channel soon so definitely keep an eye out for it there! (hopefully it won't be too long of a wait).
DeleteAlright, thanks! While I'm at it, I'm taking on trying to make Dignified Silver Dragon competitive...
DeleteXD I dunno if I can help you much with that. I would try something like Tim Power Gamer's Star Drive Dragon deck as well as looking into 9k boosters to make any rearguard Silver Dragons into 21k columns :) Thats about all I can help you with though.
