Hey Cardfighters,
Welcome to cards of the week where we go over the Japanese spoiled cards each week and talk a little bit about how good or bad they may be. I won't show the exact skills but you can click on the links below the images to take you to the wikia. (Images Courtesy of Cardfight Wikia)
(Spade Jack of Nightmareland)
I really don't know what to say about this guy other than... he kinda sucks... Dark Irregular has plenty of other great 5k power starters and this guy only gives you a tiny bit of soul and isn't boosting the first who know how many turns of the game.
(Vividness Sacred Staff, Andragius)
This man will be an interesting one to see if he pays off. He's basically useless against control matchups since they will just blow up the front row, but against other decks he will provide a very meaty +10k for free. Especially in Altmile builds fulfilling his condition should be fairly easy.
(Flower Princess of Balmy Breeze, Ilmatar)
This card is realllly good... if you have a nice set up for it. For those who don't know Bloom hits ridiculously high numbers so getting the card draw should be fairly trivial if you have the right set up. That being said key cards like Thuria don't actually have bloom so it may be harder to set up than people think. There is the possibility of a full bloom deck being able to get massive advantage out of this deck but we will have to wait and see.
(Prehistoric Regalia, Urthr)
A FRICKEN REGALIA STRIDE AW YEEE. And the ability is crazy. It lets you soul charge EVERY regalia in your drop zone stride. That is some fat soul if I do say so myself, and will let you reuse the powergaining effects multiple times. And the second time you use it you'll get a sweet ability to SB 6 and get +10k and an extra crit. Note that this ability isn't once per turn so you can effectively super Blizza to insta close out the game if they don't have a PG.
(Present Era Regalia, Verthandi)
This card is pretty awesome as well. It fixes a big issue of genesis by being able to pump up rearguards (when combined with the previous card). I expect to see her as the main companion to CEO yggdrasil in future Regalia decks, taking the place of Angelica. With the two support cards I anticipate Regalias to be a strong force post-GBT08
(Carnivorous Megatrick, Prana)
After discussing with friends this card ends up being a biiiig dissapointment. The effect basically makes it a clone of most other Pale Moon strides and doesn't add much to the utility or finishing power of the deck (Specifically Harri). Ultimately this will be a tech option to play around Shadow Paladin's Phantom Blaster "Diablo Stride".
(Nightmare Doll, Claris)
Claris is a pretty interesting card which will let you turn field power into advantage via guarding and then it will go back into soul possibly to be called out again for more advantage. Abuse of this card would really be able to snowball a game for Nightmare Dolls. Also should be noted that this will work very well with Prana contradictory to what was previously said since Prana is able to keep units on the field.
(Unicycle Tumbler)
Pretty Simple, a 9k Booster (relevant because it makes good numbers) and on-hit pressure to unflip. The soulblast could be an issue before Pale Moon really gets its soul going. But this looks to be a solid G1 choice especially if your deck is very CB heavy.
Well Cardfighters, those are my initial thoughts on all the japanese cards spoiled this week! G-BT08 is looking very promising. With most of the higher rarities revealed hopefully the Commons will really round out the clans. Let me know what you think of these cards in the comments!
