After playtesting my Goku deck over the week I decided that since Chaos Breaker Dragon is basically an auto loss I was going to try my Dungaree Deck this week.
I'll do an analysis of my Dungaree deck a bit later (I didn't use T-Theory for it but I think its got a good balance.)
Once again it was a 4 round tournement.
Round 1: Perfect Raizer
I had a lack of guard early so I got bombarded by an early assault starting at 4 damage before I could even ride to grade 2. I was able to put up somewhat of an offense but later in the game he re rode Perfect Raizer over Mr. Invincible and I didn't have enough guard in my hand to defend his 26k Perfect Raizer (w/o boost) going upto 33k with boost.
Round 2: Great Nature (Chatnoir/Leopald Reverse)
He had a rough start like I did in the last round and also missed his breakride. He put up a bit of resistance and even rerode to the break ride and again to leopald reverse but my early offense had put him far enough behind so that I could take most of his high powered attacks rather than having to guard them and then beat him a few turns later.
Rounds 3: Old Style Kagero
This deck uses Blazing Flare Dragon and Dragonic Waterfall to create high power attack lines in combinations with various retiring skills and Mahoragas/Chain Attack Sutherlands. It was a really rough game because I didn't draw many Boosters to begin so his high retiring ability meant I was Boosterless. I put up a fight but the high power columns destroyed my hand. I believe that this was the game I missed my crossride as well so it was much easier for him to hit big numbers on me. Overall my loss was because he was able to keep me from having boosters while setting up really strong attacks on me.
Round 4: Amon Reverse
I think we were both close to being grade locked but we both managed to pull out of it. He didn't draw many boosters so that turned into not being able to attack my vanguard at all. Similar situation to the Great Nature I had an early offense where he didn't and I snowballed my advantage to the end of the game.
So Overall I went 2-2 just like last time. Makes me wonder if switching really made a difference at all. Though I think that maybe I could do just as well if not better with Goku (I still haven't mastered Dungaree) but the problems set in once I do make top 8 when I'm bound to face a Chaos Breaker Dragon at some point and then I've basically lost before its even started.
Didn't make top 8 this time because my tie breakers were worse I guess.
I'm going to try and make a version of Goku which is more resilient to Chaos Breaker Dragon, but for now I'm going to stick with Dungaree for a while.
